Mental Health Awareness Month was first recognized in May of 1949 and has been since then. This is a time to acknowledge the mental health of those living with mental or behavioral health issues. Though, this should not be limited just to the month of May. This month is to help reduce the stigma behind mental health conditions, with the goal of everyone helping everyone achieve a healthier mental health status.
